Method:
1 Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, add figs and cook for 2-3 minutes or until figs soften a little.  Add balsamic vinegar and brown sugar, reduce heat, and cook for 6-8 minutes or until sauce has thickened.
2 Microwave, blanch or steam asparagus until tender. Drain and pat dry.
3 Place asparagus on a plate, spoon over the fig sauce, season with salt and pepper.  Serve.
