Method:
1 Preheat the oven to 220°C fan forced.
2 Cut the pastry into a large circle, place a 1cm-wide pastry strip around the edge to hold the apple. Place on a baking paper- line oven tray, prick base using a fork.
3 Combine the caster sugar and mascarpone and spread over the pastry base. Arrange the apples slices on top, slightly overlapping. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until base is cooked and golden.
4 Combine the brown sugar, cream and butter in a small saucepan over a medium heat, simmer for 5-6 minutes until thickened. Drizzle over the tart and serve.
