Method:
1 Pour oil into a medium saucepan until one-third full. Heat over medium-high heat until hot.
2 Combine the flour and sugar in a bowl and whisk in enough water to create a batter. Dip pear, 1 piece at a time, into batter. Deep-fry pears, in small batches, for 2 minutes or until light golden and drain on paper towel.
3 Combine the icing sugar and cocoa powder in a bowl stir in about 2 tbs or enough boiling water to create an icing.
4 Arrange the pear doughnuts on a plate, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and pour over the chocolate sauce, with ice cream to serve.
